33rd Annual Nevada Science Bowl
February 3, 2024

On behalf of the National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Field Office, we are pleased to announce the 2024 Nevada Science Bowl for high school competition is scheduled for February 3, 2024. This year’s competition will take place in person at the College of Southern Nevada. Registration opens at 1 p.m. ET Monday, October 2, 2023.

Thirty-two teams from high schools in Nevada and Utah are welcome to participate in this round robin, double-elimination competition. Monetary awards are given to the first through ninth place teams for use in their school’s mathematics/science departments. Although other Science Bowl competitions will take place throughout the country, individual schools may only enter one regional competition per year.

To register your team, please click – HS Team Registration Link. Instructions on how to electronically register your team can be found at this link – Electronic Registration Instructions. If you are considering entering more than one team, please submit a separate registration packet for each team. The goal is to field single teams from 32 different high schools. You may register an additional team from your school, but the second team will be held until the deadline. If there are not 32 individual school teams received by the deadline, the second teams will be placed in order of submission date. Every effort will be made to accommodate all registered teams, but we must adhere to the 32-team limit. A team consists of one coach, an optional co-coach, four team players and one alternate.

The team that wins the Nevada Science Bowl competition will be eligible to compete in the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., April 25-29, 2024. All members of the winning regional team must commit to participate in the National Science Bowl or the second-place team will be asked to substitute.

Student Forms:

Every member of every regional team is required to complete a Media Release and Consent Form in order to participate in any regional event. After your team is approved, coaches will receive instructions on how to send your students’ forms to their parents for electronic signature.

Coaches: Please use your online NSB account to complete and upload the Media Release and Consent Form.
