The Protective Force team sets the standard in delivering protective force excellence in physical security services, providing 24/7 protection of personnel, equipment, facilities, and assets carrying out the Site’s important national security mission. Our team’s experience brings a fresh approach to strengthen NNSS protective force operations, which will continue to ensure our country’s critical assets are protected no matter what current or future threats may arise. The Protective Force mission aims to detect, deter, and respond to a wide variety of security threats or challenges utilizing integrated solutions in a professional, safe, and efficient manner.
The Protective Force Training Academy provides training and capacity development for all NNSS Protective Force needs. Training is essential for learning fundamentals and growing skills to maintain expert level qualifications and certifications. Dynamic and changing environments require unique solutions and innovative ways of achieving the highest standards for the Protective Force. Training at the NNSS is accomplished by professional instructors with hands-on experience and extensive background in Protective Force operations and military operations. The Training Academy, certified by the Department of Energy’s National Training Center, teaches:
- TRF100 – Initial Entry Training
- TRF200 – Initial Special Response Team Training
- Basic Tactical Entry
- Site-Specific Tactical Leadership
- Designated Marksman Training
- Basic Instructor Training
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care
- All required refresher and annual/sustainment training
