Mission Support and Test Services’ Business Operations (BizOps) unit has been awarded the Southwest Alliance for Excellence’s (SWAE) 2022 Pinnacle Award for Excellence.

The Pinnacle Award for Excellence recognizes organizations that have mature and fully deployed quality systems within their operations, that demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, and that have a sustained record of performance. The Pinnacle Award is the state level award equivalent to the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and is SWAE’s highest recognition of performance excellence.

Cindy Gruben, Chair of SWAE’s Board of Directors, congratulated Mission Support and Test Services, noting that “SWAE is proud to continue empowering organizations to pursue performance excellence, improve outcomes, and contribute to the economic strength of their community and state. This evaluation process and feedback is one of the best methodologies available to develop a higher level of organizational performance.”

“This is an amazing accomplishment, especially considering that, as its own organization, Business Operations was stood up just a few short years ago,” said BizOps Senior Director Neile Miller. “I want to recognize every member of the BizOps team, not only for their role in supporting our application for this award, but for their extraordinary commitment to enabling the mission every single day.”

To help achieve sustained excellence, SWAE’s site visit team provided BizOps with a written assessment detailing a pathway for improvement. The feedback report is one of the most valuable features of the SWAE Performance Excellence Program process, as it details specific strengths and opportunities for improvement based on the criteria for performance excellence.

“As team members directly supporting this journey, we want to let our colleagues know how grateful we are for their contributions to the application submittal and to a successful site visit,” said Enterprise Alignment Senior Manager Misti Duplex. “Thanks to their hard work and dedication to performance excellence, we have achieved a major milestone.”
