STEM Saturdays return
More than 120 members of the Southern Nevada community joined the NNSS for the highly anticipated return of STEM Saturdays at the Atomic Museum, marking the first session of the series for the 2024-2025 academic year. The event gave students a front-row seat to the power of light and temperature through thermal imaging, laser interferometry and fiber optics demonstrations.

Preparing meal packages with Three Square Food Bank
Members of the NNSS African American Employee Resource Group joined hands with Three Square Food Bank to prepare meal packages for seniors throughout Nevada. Together, volunteers assembled 1,800 meal packages that were distributed to multiple senior centers and homes throughout the state.

Special Technologies Laboratory adopts community garden
NNSS Special Technologies Laboratory (STL) employees based in Santa Barbara recently adopted a community garden in the neighboring city of Goleta. The community garden, the city’s first, is housed at the newly renovated Armitos Park. In preparation for its grand opening and ribbon cutting, STL team members assembled a butterfly planter for the butterfly garden and will continue to tend the garden throughout the year.
