Jill Dale, senior principal scientist at the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS), has been elected to the Board of Trustees for the Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation (NTSHF). She joins other professionals on the board with nuclear testing, national security, museum and business experience.
The appointment recognizes Dale’s work and commitment to preserving and sharing the history and legacy of the NNSS. Her background and connection to the Site made her a perfect fit for the board and further extends the longstanding partnership between the NNSS and the National Atomic Testing Museum.
The NTSHF oversees the operation of the Atomic Museum in Las Vegas and is dedicated to preserving and sharing U.S. nuclear history. As a a trustee, Dale will assist with fundraising, lead corporate sponsorships, and assist with programming and events based on new curation.
“I’m excited to jump right in. I already got my first sponsorship in the first week and am working on more”, said Dale.
Board philanthropy is not a new endeavor for Dale. She has served several terms as the chairwoman for Women United, an auxiliary arm for United Way of Southern Nevada, and has worked closely with the NTSHF and NNSS cultural resources for 20 years, so this next step feels like a natural transition for her.
NNSS has proudly partnered with the Atomic Museum for 21 years. Through this collaboration, NNSS has helped advance educational outreach and STEM exposure in the community. Through the popular STEM Saturdays program, hosted at the Atomic Museum, the local community enjoys free interactive events focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics topics led by real scientists, engineers and more.
“STEM Saturdays at the Atomic Museum is one of the coolest programs we’re involved in,” said Dale. “I am such a big advocate of women in STEM. That’s my passion: getting girls involved in science.”
The NNSS’ enduring partnership with the Atomic Museum is rooted in a shared commitment to strengthen programs that educate and inspire future generations.
In her new role, Dale looks forward to continuing to make lasting impact on the Las Vegas community.
